Java/Spring Rental Marketplace
Built a rental marketplace in a five-person Scrum team.
Results
- Matched multi-item requests across providers, locations and dates while preventing allocation conflicts.
- Tracked availability for individual tool units and managed bookings through their full lifecycle.
Overview
Developed Arnesista, a Java/Spring tool rental marketplace for local rental businesses.
The project addresses inventory and booking information scattered across phone calls, emails and spreadsheets.
A constraint-aware bundle-selection engine matches multi-item requests to available inventory across providers, locations and dates.
It coordinates availability and pricing for grouped bookings while preventing allocation conflicts.
The marketplace tracks individual tool units and time-based availability, validates overlapping reservations, and manages bookings from request and confirmation through active rental, completion or cancellation.
Owners and renters have separate roles; the platform coordinates reservations while physical pickup and tool handling remain with the provider.
